This is an idea to promote Nike Soccer (Football) prior to the World Cup:

Cross-Country Soccer

Two normal-sized football goals are built on opposite sides of the country. A referee and a cameraman follow the ball wherever it goes. Teams are composed of anyone. Passes are coordinated over the Internet. Updates are constantly pushed to a website where people can see video, text updates, and an explanation of the whole thing. The ball can travel in cars, planes, trains, anything but cannot travel more than 50 miles without a pass. The ball can be stolen during a pass. Water bottles, orange wedges, and cheerleaders may show up along the way. The game lasts 30 days. There can be a goalkeeper but only one and he probably won’t want to stay at the goal 24-7 and he will probably want to sleep. Use of hands is never permitted. If and when the ball gets on a plane, players will have to handle it with their feet at all times. Canada and Mexico are out-of-bounds.
